Time is Vanishing – Unstoppable

Time is precious and short. It is approaching its final goal, the end – not only for the individual but for the entire world.

Our time is limited. Do we believe that, or do we wish to deceive ourselves? Are we utilizing our time for God? Or is it possible that we have no time for Him because we are so busy with the idol, our “self?”

The things that are transpiring in this world clearly tell us, “Time is running out!” Your own time is also coming to an end; remember that! The Bible warns: “the world is passing away along with its desires!” (1 John 2:17 ESV). God Himself will determine the events of time. He will make true the promise He made to Jesus’ disciples: “This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11).

Do we expect Jesus Christ to return as King? Do we expect Him soon? We don’t have to sink into a doomsday mood. But, being fully awake and full of joy, we are to expect our King! We cannot set a date. God has His own calendar which we are not allowed to see. But the signs of the times, the world events, the events in the Church of the Lord, announce the nearness of the great day of Jesus Christ.

People deceive and are deceived! Many Christians are asleep: love has grown cold in many, and ungodliness is taking over in the world. All these signs and manifestations have been predicted in the Bible as signs of the near return of Jesus. But all the darkness that fills the world must give way on that great day to the Light of the Great King when He comes. Are you ready for that great day?

Looking ahead to the coming of Jesus Christ is important for us. Our lives must be focused on that day, not fearfully, but in joyful anticipation.

When Jesus returns, the multitude of people who have kept faith in Jesus, those who have waited watchfully and prayerfully for His coming, even though they were mocked and ridiculed, will experience rejoicing! Our Lord Jesus Christ will not disappoint! His people will receive their glorious reward. All mockers and all enemies of Jesus Christ, all who have been lukewarm and apathetic, will have to confess with shame: “We have despised Him who alone could have given us eternal life. Now we are forever lost; we are doomed to judgment without hope.” It is the most terrible thing a person can experience.

To which category do you belong to? Do you belong to the people who are redeemed from their sins by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God?  Do you follow Him as you wait for His return? The call of Jesus will then be to you: “Lift up your eyes on high, because your redemption is drawing near!” (Luke 21:18)
